Experience the spirit of Bushido through authentic Tate (samurai sword choreography) led by professional performers from Tokyo Kenbukai “Shiden-ryu.”
Learn authentic Japanese Tate (samurai sword choreography / stage combat) and perform a short duel scene under the guidance of professional performers from Tokyo Kenbukai “Shiden-ryu”.
This hands-on cultural workshop emphasizes movement, posture, timing, and demonstration-based learning.
Clear verbal explanation is secondary — the experience is designed to be understood through practice and performance.
【Program Contents】
- Samurai Costume Dressing — transform into a samurai before the workshop begins
- Brief Bushido Introduction (about 5 minutes) — the mindset and etiquette behind samurai movement
- Samurai Sword Choreography (Tate) Workshop — learn movements, timing, and safe partner choreography
- Final Duel Scene — perform a short choreographed scene with your partner/group
- Master Kenbu (Sword Dance) Performance — a live demonstration by Tokyo Kenbukai
- Japanese Calligraphy Experience — create your own work to take home as a souvenir
- Matcha (authentic green tea) and traditional sweets
